Jeremy Mills gave a very different brief for 'Castaway 2007' compared to the original series brief in 2000.
There had to be a feeling that the Castaways were cut off from communicating with the rest of the world. Sometimes the visuals in the titles were distorted and the music had to mirror this. The theme also had to be epic, energetic, contemporary with a hint of mystery.
Jeremy Mills gave the boys a very precise brief for this opening titles sequence, and you can hear it in the opening 30 seconds of music. The camera is moving over the menacing waves, very close to the sea until we then see the island from a distance. As the camera rises over the island the importance of what is about to happen is reflected by the prestigious classical sounds of the horns and trumpet.
This very successful and long running Endemol series for BBC1 looks at the wild animals and their keepers at Longleat House.
