John Brant studied music and performing arts at the Brit School in Croydon. He plays piano and guitar.

He began his professional career at R.G.Jones Recording Studios in Wimbledon, where he first worked with Simon May and Simon Lockyer as sound engineer for numerous TV and Film soundtracks such as EastEnders, Castaway, The Tribe and Pet Rescue.

He has also engineered for many artists such as Cliff Richard, Pulp, The Fugees, Paul Weller and J-Lo.

John also works with writer/producer Alan Tarney. It was at Alan's Richmond studio where John engineered and co-programmed the Cliff Richard album 'Wanted'.
John has co- written music for Castaway, Brat Camp, Evacuation, ‘I Know What You Ate Last Summer’ and Dealing with Dickinson as well as many tracks for KPM, Juice Music and Universal Music.

John has co-written songs for various artists including Blake, Brian Kennedy and the Celtic Tenors.

John currently co-writes as part of the Music On Screen team with Simon May & Simon Lockyer.

Their different skills, ages and musical backgrounds have created a versatile team, which can handle any brief with inspiration and originality.
